CAP
- Country Awareness Program
(Print Version Here)
Introduction
CAP was designed as a proactive preventative
measure to prepare employees deploying on
assignment to a foreign country or to a remote
locality. CAP provides a comprehensive package
of educational services to help employers
protect their most important human capital
investment.
CAP is a modularized format of presentations
that can be tailored into a course designed to
meet client specific needs. This modular format
provides enormous flexibility in the delivery of
the training.
CAP offers a variety of skills that focus on
risk prevention and risk minimization. The
personal security lessons provide the client
with the ability to understand the risks they
face and what practical steps should be taken to
minimize such risks. The first aid training is
focused on reducing the consequences of injury,
by giving the client the confidence to
administer such aid as is required, to both
him/herself and to fellow employees.
The interactive approach to providing such
training encourages involvement by the clients
and thus helps to build a team spirit. This is
achieved through a combination of feedback and
practical exercises. The course has a
“prevention” and “cure” focus, hence providing
the relevant information on how to minimize risk
exposure and maximize the ability to deal with
such a hazard.
CAP also covers risk management principles and
theory and keeps it at a sensible and realistic
level for all participants enabling them to
practically apply it to situations that they may
encounter. We also use realistic scenarios in
order to show how these risk management skills
work. We find that this and the inclusion of a
basic field medical segment, provides a more
comprehensive approach to minimizing the
possible risks faced by clients.
Benefits
· It has been found that organizations providing
such training to their personnel will also
benefit with their insurance premiums and
general morale of their employees.
· Education is a proactive and effective way to
help mitigate the risks in any complex and or
hostile environment, and CAP serves to expand
the number of options available to staff
operating in such environments.
· CAP can psychologically prepare clients before
they enter these environments.
· CAP can also be used by clients as a
cost-effective filter for personnel who may not
be suited to operating in such adverse
environments.
Costs
The costs involved with CAP training, is
dependant on the location where the training is
to be conducted. It is strongly advised that the
initial training be conducted prior to their
departure. This will enable the parent company
to identify personnel who are not suited to
deploy into the target country.
