Crisis
Management
(Print Version Here)
The operating environment for companies doing
business in the Middle East is becoming
increasingly hazardous. With on-going conflicts
in both Afghanistan and Iraq, and more recently
Lebanon, the region has become much less stable
over the past five years. Even in relatively
secure countries, incidents happen with alarming
frequency that threaten to disrupt a company's
operations. Kidnappings of foreigners are
becoming more and more common, occurring in such
diverse countries as Yemen, Nigeria, Iraq and
West Bank/Gaza. Suicide bombings in Jordan and
targeted political assassinations in Lebanon put
employees at risk. Al Qaeda is an ever-present
threat in the region.
Even non-terrorist related incidents can quickly
destabilize countries as governments struggle to
deal with the outfall. The recent sinking of a
large ferry boat in the Red Sea resulted in
riots along the coast of Egypt. The election of
Hamas led to a marked deterioration in the
security in Israel and surrounding countries.
The on-going stand-off over nuclear materials
production in Iran could quickly undermine the
stability of the country.
Environments that are considered calm one day
can turn volatile overnight, as in the current
cross boarder hostilities between Israel and
Lebanon, TacForce were on the ground with in 24
hours to commence evacuations for one of our
valued clients. Also, in the recent case of the
cartoon caricatures printed in certain European
media, this incident led to violent
demonstrations throughout the region, including
the burning of embassies in Lebanon and Syria.
These incidents demonstrate how quickly
situations can escalate and put personnel,
equipment and assets at risk.
TacForce International can now offer our Crisis
Management service. For a small yearly retainer
fee, TacForce International will provide an
on-call security advisor for the Middle East.
Should there be a general or specific threat to
your company assets in any country throughout
the region, TacForce will utilize its political
and military contacts throughout the region,
advanced intelligence services and security
specialists to advise during the crisis. If
necessary, TacForce will deploy its experts in
security, hostage negotiation and conflict
resolution to help resolve any situation, or in
the event of a major disturbance and the
situation has deteriorated to an unsafe level,
we will assist in the evacuation of company
employees.
Along with the crisis management, TacForce can
also provide on-going security assessments and
weekly intelligence briefings for an additional
fee.
